June Challenge: Walking Challenge
Please join the UMB Worksite Walking Challenge today!
UMB is proud to offer our annual Walking Challenge! Physical activity can help fight off many health concerns and participating in a program like this can significantly improve your health.
- According to a Harvard University Study, you will gain about two hours of life expectancy for each hour of regular exercise, even if you don’t start until middle age.
- Brisk walking for as little as 30 minutes a day can bring heart-health benefits and reduce your risk for stroke by lowering bad cholesterol (LDL) levels and high blood pressure.
The challenge begins 6/8/2014 and goes through 7/31/2014. You may want to use a pedometer, fitness tracking device, or a smartphone app to keep track of your steps during this challenge. Participants with the most steps at the end of the challenge will win a prize.
